Brief Answer:
more problem in pink eye at night.

Detailed Answer:
It does not have any day and night relation. May be at night the discharges are accumulated inside eye. Secondly application of drug is delayed in the night. Drug application is avoided at night due to sleep. It can be managed in two ways. Either continue applying drop through out night or apply neosporine ophthalmic ointment at bed time. Special nursing care is required.

Thanks! I was also wondering if it's ok to put water in the eyes prior to using the medication. Water used for cleaning purpose or does this make a difference? XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
can clean with clean water.

Detailed Answer:
You can clean it with fresh water. Clean the eye with sterile swab. Linen used to clean the discharge should be put in a separate bin. You know it is contagious. Hygiene is to be maintained
