Suggest Treatment For Constant Boredom And Depression

I am 28 year old who has started a business 2 yrs ago. I am facing problem about working / functioning effectively in personal and professional life
I am not enthusiastic enough to do things these days (Constant boredom). I know i have it in me to pull of things but i don't know why i feel like a person whose brain is freezed or in a limbo state and not able to pull of things.
This is has lead to immense loss in understanding things and my attention i.e i am kind of zoned out. All this has lead to loss in confidence and i have started feeling guilty about not contributing and i am becoming very confused about things and my vitality.
I am personality that is fiercely independent and introvert and generally don't share things with people.
I have hardly any personal life and even i have stopped any proposal of approaching people or people approaching me. I feel OK only in my own company. (I somehow get through with people in work section if i can't avoid them).
All this is leading to crumbling of my professional and personal life. I have started feeling like i am not good enough in any facet of my life.
I am a person who thinks negatively at times and have felt like this before on a smaller scale.
What should i do to get myself on track?

Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and impressed with your insight about persistent boredom and state of depression.
In fact your query is quite clear to indicate why you are facing this problem despite having a high self esteem and fulfilling life in past.
First and foremost there is need to effectively tackle stress which is eating your life. I am making few suggestions below which I hope will be useful;l for you.
1. Diet: Ensure intake of adequate quantity of fiber. Proper diet does miracles and rejuvenates. Orange is good source of anti-oxidants. Avoid junk food and fast food especially pizza, burgers and excessive sweets.
2. Ensure adequate water intake: Recommended intake of water is 2 to 3 liter a day. Insufficient intake of water could be a contributing factor in causation of symptoms.
3. Early morning Exercise: Brisk walking for 30 minutes at a stretch preferably in garden will be very helpful. Walking is the best exercise, it also promotes release of Endorphins( naturally occurring pain killers released in brain) which causes mood elevation and generalized feeling of well being. Make it a daily habit and incorporate in your lifestyle.
4. Avoid tea/coffee/ nicotine and alcoholic beverages: If at all you want to drink something, drink fresh lime water.
5. Start your day with a glass of Lemon water with 2 spoons of honey added.
6. Don't take work so seriously: We all have the feeling to excel in our respective fields and don't spend adequate time with our own self trying to understand our own needs.
The work pressure is high: Call it a day, take a short leave and hit out to picnic spot which you always wanted to go with your family and/or friends.
7. While working take frequent regular breaks: Taking regular breaks will not waste the time, but it will definitely increase the productivity, concentration and reasoning. Take break for 5 minutes every 30 minutes.
8. Avoid starring for longer time at the computer screen or TV for longer time
9. Steam inhalation before going to sleep will be very refreshing
10. Multivitamin and Calcium supplement.
I hope this will help you to certain extent.

Thanks for the swift reply.
I agree on the point of reducing the stress. I am actually following points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6(partially) & 7.
After following the above points and still feeling this way has made me extremely concerned about my mental well being
The stress some way is from the fact that i am doing business and family and friends poke me that i am moving in a wrong direction (I will be financially weak and about settling and all).
That to some extent has lead to an insecurity in me as business is a thing that has 50-50 success / fail chance.
Other thing that is my concern is that do i have the strength to get up if i fail miserably as i am heading into tricky age zone where responsibilities are going to be lurking around
Also i am facing poor concentration level and thus not able to concentrate on things properly (e.g) I am not 100% mentally with the person i am talking thus i am not able to grasp and learn things. At times i have bad self control. I am moody at times.
I am somebody who is too self critical and at times too much stubborn and egoistic and would not be accepting my mistakes and can never see myself on lower level in my circle and thus leading to not taking advices from people.
I have tendency to get overwhelmed by things when they are plenty or when i am bored which makes me a bad multitasker. I think too much about things.
I am somebody who tries to avoid conflicts
I have developed a inertia that leads to flunking of work at times. I will be performing work that i am well versed with and wont learn new things or avoid it. At times i feel jealous about the people who are able to work.
Has my mind stunted or doesn't accept growth or is not capable of growth any more or do i have some mental anomaly going on?
At times i feel that i am all confused and messed up in mind and don't recognize myself anymore. I feel like i am trapped and don't know where to go and how to go which leads to bad decision making ability.
I feel like i have become a grown up human beings with maneuvering skills of a toddler who doesn't know what is happening around him and how to take care of things
I want to mentally clear and healthy as this non clarity and uncertainty of mind is freaking me out and damaging my self confidence about handling life.
Seek help from professional (psychologist) in your city
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.
I understand all your points and if want me to sum up there is more points in favor of self critical. From my personal experience I know that most people who are self critical have many positive attributes which they fail to recognize. We all are aware that every coin have two sides and recognising both sides are important.
The same thing is applicable for you. Being self critical is ok for some extent but if it is excessive it leads to problem of depression and decreased work output.
In your scenario I will like to advise cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which helps to mata rational attribution to your thoughts and replaces negative thoughts with positive one. Please locate a psychologist in your city who practices CBT.
I am of the view that above mentioned therapy is most useful considering your thoughts pattern and lack of social support.
Thanks and regards

Thanks for the suggestion and i will follow up with the suggestion asap.
Is being self critical the only root cause for the all the problems or is their more to it.
Can you please explain the other things that are a problem area other than being self critical.
A summary encompassing all the problems that i have or going through will be appreciated. Just a basic unlocking of my engine i.e brain.
A short review of yours on my thought pattern and how are they as compared to normal or the expected one.
Just wanted to know as to whether is their any ongoing grave issues or possibility of grave issues in future.
Thanks a ton for the help.
Being self critical is part of us and not an anomaly
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up.
First of all I like to inform you that being self critical is part of us and essential part of thought process. It is the excess of being self critical that is problematic.
I do not mean that self critical is a problem itself but in your case they are dominating your though process and that comes under excess.
It is not the root cause of problems but your mental makeup along with circumstances giving the problems. As we do not have control over circumstances to a large extent we need to change the part which we can do easily and that is our though process.
Problem areas are many but it is not clear whether they are consequences of something else or root cause. For example having inertia is common for all of us and may occur nomally. But in your case it may be due to circumstances, fear of failure, unable to recognize own strengths but it is also possible that current circumstances are result of inertia. This can be conclusively said after hours of mental exploration under guidance of professional psychologist/psychiatrist.
I think I summarized already in last answer and above paragraph.
There is nothing wrong with your thought process. Everyone have their own thinking but if it causes any problem in working in academic, occupational and social life is considered abnormal. Since you are finding difficulty with your work these days due to irrational ear, there is lack of social life, adamant behavior, confusion over ongoing things and may be lot more. These things which hampering your work need to bring under check.
Generally people with this kind of thought process are prone to mood disorders particularly depression.
I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
