Brief Answer:
Raynaud's phenomenon to look for...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your uncle's medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

You are saying that :
- he is constantly dizzy
- with upper part of his body being hot
- sweating alot
- legs and feet are cold

If ENT examination and cat-scan did not reveal any organic damage, then, most probably what he is experiencing is due to Raynaud phenomenon. This is characterized by spasms of blood vessels supplying his lower limbs.

If I was his caring doctor would advise to run further diagnostic tests to rule out other diseases that might lead to blood vessels spasms first. If still nothing will be found, then, primary Raynaud's phenomenon is confirmed.

Tests recommended include:
- antinuclear antibodies test to exclude connective tissue diseases or autoimmune disease
- erythrosedimentation test to rule out autoimmune or inflammatory diseases
- complete blood count to rule out anemia
- echo Doppler of blood vessels of lower limbs to rule out possible narrowing or occlusion

Medications he might be using on daily basis might cause also this condition.

With regards to feeling his upper body hot; I advise to check his thyroid and a complete bio-chemical balance to rule out related deficiencies.

The treatment is based on the possible cause. If no cause is really found, then, usually, I advise my patients to:
- cover their lower limbs especially when in cold weather
- apply vasodilatator cream locally (lower limbs)
- physio-therapy (keep the lower limbs in movement)

Hope it was of help!
