Question : I am a male in my late 20's and do try to work out several times a week. Around two weeks ago, I started to get constant heart palpitations. They were mild at first but for about the past 6 days, they have been getting more frequent and lasting on and off all day. I had been to my doctor for a standard checkup(before the palps started) and was told my heart and everything seemed fine. Blood pressure 138/75. I do have some stress(like anyone) but never had issues like this. I seem to get just a little short of breathe from them at times. They seem to worsen with increased activity, such as working out. I tried taking some extra calcium/magnesium, but it makes no difference.
Brief Answer:
Further cardiac tests recommended...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history and understood your concerns.
I suggest to run further cardiac tests to determine the type of arrhythmia:
- EKG
- cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring
- Stress test
in order to determine the type of arrhythmia and how it is affected by the physical stress.
I also advise to:
- avoid coffee/chocolate/energetic/alcoholic drinks
- avoid intake of narcotics
- avoid spicy/chilly foods
Hope it was of help! Let me know if you have further queries!
