Suggest Treatment For Constant Pain In Left Thigh

default
Posted on Wed, 7 Oct 2015
Question: I've been experiencing pain in my left thigh for sometime now. It's a constant ache where I am unable to put
Pressure on it, if I lay on my left side it becomes increasingly uncomfortable, so have to sleep on my right side. I thought it could be muscular so have been using deep heat, but does not ease it. More recently I have 2 very clear large indentations appeared and still painful. Any idea if I should get it checked out or what could be causing it please.

Brief Answer:
Muscular strain

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.
According to your symptoms it seems a muscular strain, which is caused by a overstretching of the muscles with subsequent muscular tear which can be from mild to severe.

The pain to pressure supports this diagnosis, because now inflammation is occurring due to the local damage.

The tear is supported by the indentation you feel or see, especially when the muscles is contracted.

The good part of this story is that it is a benign situation and generally you should recover in XXXXXXX two weeks. Meanwhile rest is recommended and if not contra indicated some NSAIDs for the pain and for the inflammation.

Hope this helps.

Wish you the best health
