Question : Hello... I had a stent put in my heart on June 20th and they said that chest pain may be part of the after the surgery, but today I feel a constant pain in my chest that has been going on for about 2 hours, and now my right arm feels funny... kind of like it went to sleep. Is this normal?

Brief Answer:
Need a visit to Emergency Room

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that as you have already underwent angioplasty and now you are experiencing chest discomfort so it becomes highly advisable to evaluate any sort of chest discomfort.

I would like to suggest you to visit ER of your near by Hospital and get the following tests done :

1. Ecg

2. Echo

3. Cardiac Biomarkers

This basic evaluation will help to rule out weather this chest discomfort is due to cardiac ischemia or not .

Hope this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
