Question : Constant shoulder and neck pain are now making it difficult to swallow. I am a veteran and am having trouble getting an appointment with the VA. Do you have any advice dealing with this pain until I can get an appointment?

Soft cervical collar and ibuprofen.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Besides heat and ice pads, in my opinion, you should wear a soft cervical collar and you should use Ibuprofen 400 mgx3/ daily until you get checked by your Doctor about the cause of your symptoms and definitive treatment.
