Question: My daughter 3 years old, had vomitings yesterday night around 3 times. Today morning she was fine, however she has vomited again in the afternoon as soon as she took some food. She does not have any fever, looks like she had constipation. Her weight is 12.5kgs. Kindly advise.

Brief Answer:
Looks like a prodrome or starting stage of diarrhea

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Looks like you daughter is having a start of viral diarrhea.

Usually it will start will vomiting and mild fever and then diarrhea might start.

If there is vomiting you can use Syrup Ondansetron (as prescribed by your pediatrician) or use Ondansetron suspension at 5ml thrice a day 30 minutes before feeds.

If diarrhea starts - Once it starts it will take 5-7 days to completely get better. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry.
There is no need to use antibiotics unless there is blood in the motion. Antibiotics might worsen if unnecessarily used causing antibiotic associated diarrhoea.

I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment.
