Brief Answer:
Consult the specialist if it is not the first time of constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome in HCM.

I have gone through your question and i am going to give some other information.

In your situation according to the history you have a distended abdomen due to constipation and probably gases. If oral saline laxative did not help, you can try an enema twice per day .

Enema is a procedure in which liquid is injected into the rectum, typically to expel its contents. It only improve the symptoms it does not cure be careful.

But if i were your treating doctor if its the first time of constipation you can try the above alternatives but if its repetitive one better to do:

Abdominal ultrasound
Occult blood in the stool

To exclude gastrointestinal tract problems.Your doctor than will prescribe the right treatment basing in the result.
Until than you have to be careful with the meals,a lot of liquids and vegetables

Take care.

Wish a fast recovery
