Question : My 7month old baby boy is not passing stool for last 2-3days. Today morning he passed little bit very tight stool but not in a proper way. So he is feeling uncomfortable and crying most of the time. Due to which he is even not taking proper mother feed. We have given him proper water and even Janam ghutti as well. Kindly suggest home based remedy or medicine so that his stomach may relaxed.

It is pretty common for babies at this age to pass stools once in a few days. If your child is active and playful no need to worry.
If he is crying and feeding is less and he is uncomfortable as you had mentioned then you can try lactulose syrup.
I usually prescribe around 5ml twice daily for a few days till stools normalise.
But do not repeat this frequently.
A permanent solution would be to increase the amount of fibre in his diet. This can be done by ensuring that the child gets atleast two to three servings of fruits and vegetables everyday. Water should be given frequently as it is essential for soft stools formation.
If the problem persists do consult your pediatrician.

In what form we can increase fibre in his diet, and in what form we can give him fruit and vegetable. Please suggest and even baby is trying to force himself to pass stool but not able to do that. We visited paed. last week for some diff. issue then he suggested don't give him fruits and vegetable so I am in dilemma what to do. please give personal suggestion.
