Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Question : I used two pills at bedtime for constipation that did'nt work so I used a supposatorie. I went extremely heavy this am after using this and ever since every time I go just a little, I get pink blood on tissue every time I wipe. Should I be alsrmed?

I am a Gastroenterologist and would be answering your query.

See some times due to overstraining in constipated patients the thin protective mucosal layer over the rectal canal gets breached leading to mild to moderate bleeding.

As bleeding in your case is related directly to use of suppositories etc its related to constipation and i dont feel that its a sign of any alarming condition right now.

Suggestion use a laxative for few days so that you need not to strain for defecation this will give time to ruptured mucosa to heal itself.
