Brief Answer:
Can be treated with exercises if less then 40 degrees.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The contracture of hamstrings affecting both the legs can be due to muscle spasticity. It can be associated with a contracture in the hip joint also. The treatment depends on the severity of the deformity. If the deformity is less than 40 degrees then conservative treatment like muscle relaxants, physiotherapy, stretching exercises and Botox injections are tried. In case the contracture is more than 40 degrees and is associated with gait problems then a surgical lengthening procedure or a release procedure is considered.
I hope this answers your query.
