Suggest Treatment For Cough And Cold

Question: Dear Dr.,

Since 3 days, my wife has been having cough and cold. She has gone for IUI a week ago. She has been advised to take only Dolo 650 for cough and cold. But not reduced. Kindly advice.

Thanks for the query

It looks like your wife is suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection.
This is how you should go about

1. gargle the throat with Betadine gargles three times a day
2. steam inhalation for the cold
3. tab levocetrizine once in the morning and night will give good symptomatic relief
4, I usually prescribe my patients ascoril d 2 tsp three times a day for cough
5, Avoid milk, milk products and cold food and beverages
6 wear warm clothing
7 continue dolo 650
