Brief Answer:
First of all, please stop mucinex DM and take plain Mucinex/Mucolyte

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,

First of all, please stop mucinex DM and take plain mucinex/mucolyte. Dextromethorphan (DM) is a cough suppressant and prevent the mucous from coming out. It can however be taken at night.

Try inhalation with Eucalyptus oil/menthol. If that does not work--then you need to consult a doctor for a detailed clinical examination, especially since the occasional mucus you said is green which may be a sign of infection requiring an antibiotic therapy.
