Question: my daughter is 10 and has always been a tip toer. our family dr has watched her for years and says all is ok. Today she tried to get up and had extreame difficulity putting pressure on her legs. She said it feels like the calves are cramped up by her knee. I have given her Ibueproen and had her eat a banana, any thing else we can do to help her feel better

It is ok to be tip-toeing. You have done the right thing in giving banana since it contains potassium and should be helpful. You can also give citrus fruits and other juicy fruits. Ibuprofen is fine to be given but be sure to give it in full stomach. Apart from this, calf stretching exercises should be helpful. Just google out and you would find the techniques. I hope that with all those, the child would soon be fine.
