Suggest Treatment For Dark Discoloration On The Neck And Inner Thighs

default
Posted on Thu, 3 Nov 2016
Question: Good morning,

I am contacting you with the hope to receive some advise about what I can do to get rid of the dark areas on my neck, inner thighs and armpits.
I was looking at some information online and found pictures of other people with the same conditions. It seems its a condition called Acanthosis Nigricans.
I think it is that condition because I have it for several years now. I've tried a lot of different bleaching creams, fading creams and even though it gets lighter it doesn't go away, the back mark is much darker on the back of my neck spreading to the front of the neck. The neck and the armpits dark areas have a "sponge" like texture, it seems thicker skin than the rest of the neck or armpits without the dark areas.

I am trying to lose weight for many reasons, but also with the hope to get rid of those ugly areas.

Is there any medication or home remedy that can help me to get rid of the dark areas or at least to get them lighter in color and texture?

Brief Answer:
Ayurveda Management & Approach

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and after reviewing your case history I'm of the following opinion:

1. Since you were taking prednisolone [steroid] which raises both blood sugar and blood pressure and also causes acanthosis nigricans.

2. Do let me know about your recent blood sugar report and blood pressure measurements
PS. Since Acanthosis nigricans is more common in people who are overweight, have dark skin and/or having diabetic or prediabetic condition thus is the reason of same in you so do check with plasma insulin level and glycosylated hemoglobin test and also with your thyroid profile and ultrasonography report [mainly for PCOS and adrenal gland status]

3. As the main etiology of your skin problem is a mainly being obese [calculating your BMI it comes out to be: 35.3] so apart from cosmetic point of view the dark areas will fade away in due course [by themselves] and other method is loosing weight and keeping blood sugar [insulin level] under normal limits.

4. Any Liver problem? [liver disease, malabsorption]?

5. The best is to start with dietary regime and lifestyle management which will be common both for obesity/diabetes thus has to be corporated in your daily activity

PS. apart from the above you will require medication which will help you to achieve the normal level of blood sugar and maintain ideal weight management, and as we prepare the result oriented medicines by ourselves thus if interested I can courier you the medicine(s)

6. Grate potatoes, wrap them in a cloth and take out the juice and mix few drops of lemon juice and honey to it and apply it on the affected area and wash off after 20 minutes [Potato has bleaching agents, which helps in reducing/ fading the areas]

ii. make a natural bleach with lemons, evening primrose/lavendar oil and sea salt as a scrubber

Do revert back with your concerns

PS. we do courier medicine(s) overseas.
