Question : I am a meth user. I have a severe problem on my index fingers, thumbs, and testicles. When i use, the skin becomes hard and inflamed. There are "tracks" I can follow in the skin. I end up picking relentlessly. My scrotum has dark lines (tracks) that run from the underside all over the scrotal sac and cause inflammation. it was once diagnosed as fugus, but no fungal medication worked. even when I stop using for months, it gets better but doesn't go away. its very noticeable. What is this????? How can I treat it?

                                    Brief Answer:
Laser ablation therapy for cosmetic effects.
Detailed Answer:
Hi!
I would strongly suggest that these tracks be removed by laser therapy.
This is quite commonly available where you stay.
If you wish, you might want to stop meth one day.
Kindly try a help line for this purpose.
Be happy.

But what IS IT? How do I get a doctor to do laser therapy if it can't be identified? Is laser therapy available outside of s doctors office? Would it be covered by Medi-Cal? As I type this, I am picking at my finger. Help me please. I understand the benefits of not using meth, but as I said, it doesn't go away when I quit. I went for 10 months without using and it just remained there, didn't get worse, but didn't go away either. My social life has been reduced to webcam chat so I can hide this. It's really depressing

No Laser therapy available? Try this approach instead to get better.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX
I apologize for the delay.
Making a perfect diagnosis purely online can be very challenging.
We have to speculate and hypothesize at some point.
Let us understand that if we cannot cure, we definitely can palliate (suppress the problem.)
We have come to an agreement that indeed at a structural level, these lines and marks are composed of hyperkeratinized skin cells.
Kindly try Clobetasol propionate steroidal skin cream to dissolve these and give a better look and feel.
It may take a week of application to subside.
Meanwhile, I would request you to do some thing that you genuinely enjoy, that
takes you away from despair and sorrow to enthusiasm.
I have made presumptions that Laser therapy (which dissolves hyperkeratosis),
may not be easily available to you, and that there is a chance that Medical insurance would not cover it, since it is a cosmetic procedure, the fact of the matter being that most Laser therapies are office procedures and painless, yet they may be prohibitively expensive.
Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
