Question : I have had a sensation, which may possibly be described as a foggy mind. Not from any doctor but by my asking google. It may have begun about 2 years ago. I am a patient at the VA. It is very annoying and uncomfortable. In an attempt to describe this sensation and for a doctor to understand, I get negative replies, such as : " I do not know what it is".

I think, either you have mild cognitive impairment or dementia. You are already 85 plus and most of people at this case develop such kind of symptoms. They feel difficulty to understanding the things. When any one asks them anything or discuss about anything, they feel difficult to understand it and give answer. They feels difficulty in recalling the previous things. Same problem may be in your case.

I think, you should be on some cognitive enhancer like donepezil or mementine. These drugs would help you in this case. Rest, you can discuss with your physician.
