Question: hi

how are you? my dentist has a hard time cleaning my teeth cause my teeth are too sensitive. he says I should see him for cleaning at least three times a year rather than just once but I can't afford that. what should I do? I use a sensodyne toothpaste which is for sensitive teeth but it doesn't help much.

Brief Answer:
dentinal hypersensitivity,desenstizing tooth paste

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.

Sensitivity in your teeth could be because of attrited or abraded teeth that can be because of improper brushing habits or grinding your teeth during night time.
If teeth are abraded then you can use desensitizing tooth paste like sensodont k. Apply the tooth paste all over the teeth and leave it for a minute and brush your teeth with normal brush after one minute. Use this for 1st 15days twice daily.
For next 15days use senolin tooth paste in similar way.

If the tooth patste doesn't work then we can think of restoring the teeth with cement material.

If you have the habit of grinding the teeth we have to break the habit for that you might have to wear night guard to protect your teeth. Consult a oral physician and get it diagnosed and treat accordingly.

You can get your teeth cleaned once in a year.

i hope my answer will help you, take care.

Brief Answer:
nail biting abrasion habit breakingappliance

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply.

Nail biting can cause little abrasion of the teeth. You have to break the habit of biting on your hand or nail. Divert your mind by making yourself busy in other works. You can consult a oral physician and there are some habit breaking appliances you can use them. But I feel you can avoid the habit by yourself.

Use the tooth paste for one month and you will find relief. If anything is there feel free to ask. Take care
