Some practical advises to go through depression

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

You surely will get back to the way you were before, it just needs a bit of patience and help from your family and friends.

Your wife maybe was right that you didn't need it back then, but the best way to stop it is to decrease the dose radually for a time frame 4-6 months.

Lexapro will need at least 4 weeks to start giving effect. And if after that if hasn't worked in full you an increase the dose gradually to maximum 20mg once daily.

If after using it with the dose of 20mg will not be enough then its time to try something else from the medicines in the same category.

You will achieve a much better effect if you exercise (especially do some running) during your day. Also doing activities that you like with your friends and family, and talking with someone will help a lot. These things have been proven to have 50% of the effect of going through depression and anxiety.

If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor. They will follow up with you step by step, and recommend what is needed according to how you will be.

Hope this is helpful.
