Question : My dau-in-law ia suffering from depression & fatigue & anxiety. This is not common. Began seeing therapist. Not helping. Could it be a chemical imbalance? She has asked me to help her find an answer.

Good day,
Noted your concern. Anxiety and depression are linked to few hormone conditions. Thyroid disorders and Cushing syndrome are two such conditions which can cause depression/anxiety. Does she have a swelling in neck? Any pinkish stretch marks in abdomen?

Depression could also be due to chemical imbalance in brain ( serotonin).
I hope her doctor has looked in to these causes.
