Brief Answer:
You can discuss this with your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

In depression, every patient does not need hospitalization. Psychiatrists prefer hospitalization in those cases in which either patient is suicidal, not able to look after herself, having poor compliance with drugs, getting psychotic symptoms, poor food intake or family members feel something abnormal in patient etc.

May be in your case, either your treating doctor or family member have felt something odd that need hospitalization. That you can discuss with your psychiatrist or family member.

In case, you have any more query, you can ask.

My question was, what is wrong with me that I would want to be hospitalized without being suicidal. Is this something I should discuss with my psychiatrist? My liking to be hospitalized isn't normal is it?
Should I be hospitalized for liking to be hospitalized? I really hate to admit this to my psychistrist.

sincerely,

Brief Answer:
You can go for admission.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

You can be hospitalized voluntarily. There is nothing harm in it. I have seen many patient, you feel more comfortable at hospital than at home. That may be due to protective environment of hospital. In hospital, you can get yourself thoroughly checked and find out any abnormality in your behavior. There is no harm in admitting at hospital. You can discuss this with your psychiatrist and if he says yes, then go for few days of admission.

In case, you have more query, you can ask.
