Suggest Treatment For Depression

Question: I have a tendency to get into a depressed mood easily. Then I don't like anything about life. Just a small negative thing gets me into a depressed mood. What exercises can make me overcome these negative thoughts or do I need to consult a doctor?

Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns. I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. You cannot term your low mood as clinical depression. Of course, we all use the term depression often, but it is not accurately describes the low mood. You could be dissatisfied or stressed or disappointed.

At the age of 24, there could be several reasons to be dissatisfied about life situations. Such as educational conflict, conflicts in the occupation or career side, family problems of married or unmarried people, role conflict etc. Prominent among these are educational and career conflicts.

One way or other, circumstances seldom happen according to what we wish and therefore we get disappointed. Such disappointment takes the shape of lazyness and we sit idle. As we already know IDLE MINE IS DEVILS WORKSHOP, we should avoid sitting idle. Each and every setback, even though very small, creates an opinion in our mind that, this went against my wish because, I am not worth it. We become disappointed with our life, and slowly we start thinking negatively about the whole life itself. Then total discontent creeps in. This is what we call low mood.

Not getting a correct job for your qualification, or low salaried job, or non challenging job, or the job atmosphere, or the attitude of co workers and every other natural problems in around the job atmosphere, makes us feel low. Here our expectations are beaten. Naturally we get disappointed. I am very much suggesting that these happens naturally and with everyone. Nothing to worry.

If you worry about all those happenings in your life and take these things negatively, then there is trouble. Everyone is facing such disappointment in their life. Everyone Feels disappointed. That is a short term affair. Once they understand that EACH FAILURE IS A STEPPING STONE TOWARDS SUCCESS, slowly they come back to life. That is what naturally happen, and that i why I termed it as natural.

Please mention the specific problem you are facing, if any, in your life that makes you disappinted (in your words depressed) in the follow up query. Once I know all the details, it is easy to give you remedial psychotherapy tehniques.
