Brief Answer: With medicine she would improve. Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query. Emotional instability, crying spells, easy irritability etc are part of depression and such symptoms would improve with continuous treatment. Usually duration of treatment depends upon the severity and duration of illness. If this is her first episode, then chances of getting improvement with feliz is high. You have to just wait for the response of the antidepressant. With medication, these symptoms would settle down. Just co-operate with her and no need to say any absurd word or to fight with her. Gradually with feliz, she would get her normal behavior. Please tell the duration of illness and dose of feliz. How long has she been taking this drugs? so i could give some more suggestion. Brief Answer: Increase the dose of escitalopram Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for your trust on me. Depran and feliz, both are same drugs and consist of same medicine escitalopram. Depran forte consists of escitalpram 10 mg and feliz s plus consists of 5mg escitalopram. I think, she needs higher dose of antidepressant. Better to give her depran forte twice a day, means 20 mg of escitalpram in a day. You can carry on zepnep and longifene as advise. She needs time to improve, so be patient. In case, you are thinking, it is difficult for you to handle her, you can think about get her admitted in a hospital. Rest you can discuss with her psychiatrist. In case, you need further dose, you can ask. Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist

Brief Answer: She may be in manic episode Detailed Answer: Hi Now the symptoms, you have mentioned, are towards hypomanic episode. Mania is a mood disorder which is characterized by abnormally elevated arousal energy level. Other symptoms include elevated irritability, less need for sleep, goal-motivated behaviour, increased energy, hyperactivity, increase work output and metabolism increase etc. Your mother is showing most of above symptoms. In that case, her antidepressant should be stopped and mood stabilizer or antipsychotic should be started. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper mental status examination, otherwise her condition could aggravate. You can handle patient only by regular medications and proper follow up. Such kind of patients need longer follow up, so consult a psychiatrist as soon as possible. In case, you need further help, you can ask. Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist
