Question : Hi Doctor, Yesterday evening i had three pegs, but today FBS 200 and 250 checked with glucometer. I never had a history of diabetes, fyi, i had my dinner at 10. Pm. I am wondering to see the sugar level. Can you please indicate me one thing. after taking alchohol does it increase the sugar levels? FYI, recently i am started using Telmisartan + D.uri in the morning and MetXl in the night

Hello

Your findings may indicate diabetes mellitus.
I suggests few other investigations with such findings.
Blood sugar level may increase after alcohol intake but it is immediate only.
Alcohol is not expected to such rise of blood sugar next day.

I suggest proper clinical examination and further investigations.
Investigations include routine hemogram,glycosylated hemoglobin level,fasting and post prandial blood sugar,liver function test,lipid profile,urine RE/ME,ultrasound of abdomen.

You may need diet regulation and medicines.
Firstly oral hypoglycemic medicines can be started.
You should continuously take anti hypertensives.
