Question : I suffer from diabetic nerve pain. I am a 66 year old man. I currently am prescribed four (4) three hundred mg Gabapentin three times while awake. My diabetic nerve pain is almost crippling without Gabapentin. I have discovered that smoking cannabis sativa gives almost immediate, nearly total relief from pain and agitation. Should I continue.

You can continue Gabapentin because you are responsive to Gabapentin. Its far safer than Cannabis sativa.Cannabis is addictive or habit forming drug.It can cause serious mental and neurological changes. So,don't take Cannabis.
If you have further questions,I shall be glad to answer.
