Question: I am experiencing loose stools that are dark green in color. When it is very noticeable my tongue is coated green as well.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Stoll color may be green due to many cause. It may be due to bile, or some food additives, like green leafy vegetables, Iron supplements, food rich in folates etc. How ever loose stools, with greenish tint for prolonged periods of times should be evaluated for bowel disorders like irritable bowel syndrome etc. it will need work up, stool exam, some baseline follow up, bowel studies to sort out.

Till then modifying diet and lifestyle, eating small frequent meals, avoiding dairy, fatty, spicy, processed, canned foods, soda beverages, alcohol, beer, coffee , chocolates etc all worsen it . Prefer fiber and fluids and natural fresh fruits and vegetables. I am sure it will sort it out.
