Question: My husband is 74 years old, has Primary Progressive non-fluent aphasia with the logopenic variant. He also has an enlarged prostrate. At his doctor's appointment last week his PB and pulse were normal. He has swollen feet and ankles and his stomach has enlarged. His is experiencing a low appetite, is cold and has frequent diarrhea. His PCP is checking for cirrhosis. Any other thoughts?

Brief Answer:
He should also check for kidney and heart disease!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for contacting us at health care magic.

I have reviewed the symptoms of your husband fully. These are commonly caused by either of three disease conditions affection the heart, liver or kidneys. Therefore, I will suggest that the doctor also evaluates the heart and kidneys in addition to the liver disease. His blood albumin should also be measured.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to update me on the outcome of theses findings so that I can weigh in further.
