Question : Hello, I was on seven days of amoxycillin for an infected tooth. Started antibiotic on Thursday eve, had root can on Monday and started having antibiotic-associated diarhhea the following Wednesday. Stopped the antibiotc on the following Thursday. I had 8 loose, watery stools on Thursday. Took 4 mg of Imodium on Thursday afternoon. Started with much yogurt on Friday to rebuild intestinal flora. Had white rice and a banana over the last few days as well. Very little movement on Friday with some cramping and gurgling Friday night (tonight) and a very small watery BM. It's as if everything has stopped. Also take a PPI by the way - pantoprazole. Any concern it's C. difficile? Advice? No fever or blood in stool by t he way

Brief Answer:
Not C difficile

Detailed Answer:
Hello I have gone through the description you have provided.

Your diarrhoea seems to be Antibiotic associated diarrhoea and not Clostridium difficile associated.

I would advise to continue to take yoghurt for a week.

You do not need any additional tests or medications.

Take care
