Question : My 18 months daughter is passing stool 4-5 times a day. Her stool is in the form of a gel. She is not on mother's milk and taking regular external diet. She passes urine in normal way and she is playful and taking food as per her regular diet. Please advise for medication.
Brief Answer:
Probiotics will be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Giving probiotics will be helpful. Avoid milk till her loose stools recover. But you can give yogurt or curd. You can give tender coconut water or tea with lemon also. Usually this will be self limiting. You can also give bananas.
If there is no improvement then you should go for a stool routine examination to rule out infection. In case of infection she may need antibiotics.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
