Question : I got diarrhea six days ago. At the beginning it was frequent. After one or two days it was two or three times a day,but still loose or watery. It gradually got better and is now about normal. the problem is I feel exhausted and my stomach still feels sore with lots of gas but doesn't hurt much more when I press it all over. My first hard stool was dry leaving nothing on the paper. The second one did leave moist residue. Ive lost about seven pounds173 was 180. I've been eating about twice a day because of my condition and decreased appetite. I had three vials of blood drawn on Thursday unrelated to this. Any advice?

This can lead a transient malabsorption and increased gas formation.
You will recover over the next few days.
You can take a course of probiotics.
The tiredness is due to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
You need to have rehydration solution.
Drink enough fluids.
A good urine output and a moist tongue are indications of good hydration.
Take adequate diet.
BRAT diet to start with and then you can be on your regular diet. ( BRAT- Banana Rice Apple Sauce and Toast).

I've never have lost 7 lbs in one week, is this unusual for a stomach bug?
