Question : The night before I left Mexico, I had diarrhea, vomiting and developed a purplish/red rash on my face. Now three days later I still have bouts of nausea, diarrhea and the rash. I noticed the whites of my eyes are yellow , red and swollen on the inside of my upper and lower lids. I've been taking pepto bismol to try and control the diarrhea. What could this be? I thought it was simple "traveler's disease" but the rash is concerning....especially because it seems to be in my eyes.

I understand your concern.
If your sclera (the white in your eyes ) is yellow and your urine is yellow, it is likely that you have jaundice.
It's better to see a doctor and have yourself examined and investigated.
