Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea While On Antibiotics

Question : I am a 45 year old woman.I had influenza from 3 days.I had 102 degree fever.My doctor prescribed Megaclav 625 3 times for 5 days.I am quiet okay now.But I have diarrhoea after taking 3 amoxcillin tablets.what should I do now?should I stop the medication?

What you mention is called antibiotic associated diarrhea. All you have to do is to take ORS (oral rehydration solution) to make up for the lost water and salts, and plenty of curd or yogurt since it contains plenty of beneficial bacteria which should help. You can also take probiotics like Econorm XXXXXXX twice daily for 3-5 days. You should not stop the antibiotics midway and should complete the course.

But I can't even get up because of the antibiotics.Dr had prescribed 15 antibiotics.But If I take 10,is it okay?

That you cannot get up, is due to weakness from the ailment and not from the antibiotic. Since you have started the course, you should complete the full set of 15 doses and not 10.
