Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea With Sever Cramping

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Sep 2014
Question: Symptoms
Diareha with sever cramping off and on for years. Almost daily since gastric sleeve in 2012
Decreased vision in last year
Joint pain in wrists, fingers, one ankle, and knees. Have had surgery in ankle and knees but wrists are new and the Xray showed very little arthritis changes. Ankle was scoped earlier this year and didn't help.
Depression, Fatigue

I have had Fybromyalgia for years, these don't seem to track with that.

I am thinking maybe Chrohn's which runs in family or lupus.

Brief Answer:
it could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have read your query, and I am sorry about your health concerns.

In my view, it seems like it could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - diarrhoea predominant type. It could be Chrohn's as well. Either of these can be confirmed only through a Colonoscopy. I suggest that you consult your gastroenterologist about the same, and request for one.

Decreased vision could be due to age related Presbyopia or refractive error. A visit to the optometrist or Ophthalmologist can confirm the same.

You seem to have developed arthritic changes in the wrist now. I hope you are on calcium and Vitamin D3 supplements. If not, you must start taking them straight away.

Depression, fatigue, and fibromyalgia are all inter-related. Since you have it for years, you must know how better to handle them.

Try physical therapy, sleep hygiene methods. You could also benefit from a minimal dose of anti-depressants like Amitryptyline.

Take care of your health. I wish this answer helps you to take further steps of action.

Let me know if you have doubts or other queries.

Regards,
