Question : We are having unprotected intercourse since last 5 months(max 2 times in month), however no result, my age is 30(F) and my spouse age is 32(M), we are worried that are we facing any infertility problem. Also now we are in plan to extend our family as early as possible. Request your guidance and medicine if any.

Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns about extending family.

Following is my reply:

1) It is important to have sexual intercourse around ovulation time to maximize chances of pregnancy. Twice a month is not enough.

2) Get regular follicular growth scan done from a good infertility centre near your house. They will let you know when follicle becomes dominant and mature and about to ovulate and release an egg.

3) This ovulation time is best time to try for pregnancy by having sexual intercourse ( rather than randomly twice a month).

4) Get semen analysis of husband to see if his counts are good.

5) Get an HSG ( Hysterosalpingogram ) test for yourself to see if your tubes are patent.
