Question : We conceived our son within one month of trying and delivered him via emergency c section. We've been trying to conceive a year now and nothing is happening. What could be the reasons?

HSG and semen analysis needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi

It is possible that you have developed adhesions in abdomen after your first C section due to which you have not been able to conceive.

There are 2 simple tests that need to be done:

1. HSG ( Hysterosalpingogram) which will confirm tubal latency and suggest if fallopian tubes are open or closed due to adhesions.

2. Semen analysis of husband to see if his semen is normal. This is a simple test and can be done in any laboratory.

Let me know reports of these 2 tests so that I can advice further.
