Question : Hi,
I'm having problems
at times getting softer foods spec like mashed potatoes down throat? I am in excellent health and not overweight.

i visited my doctor and she advised me to take ranitidine 300 mg once a day at nighttime. I had trouble sleeping with this drug so just started taking in morning when I first get up.

No outward feelings of a lump on my throat or anything visible inside throat that we could see.

Hello and thank you for asking me.You have problems only with soft foods;Do you have other symptoms; If your problem gets worse my opinion is that you have to take advice from a doctor otorinolaringologyst at first and maybe after that you need esophagoscopy.

doesn't seem to be cancer from this description. we will get confirmation after the tests.
