Brief Answer:
Get it evaluated by a neurologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

From description it seems that your father having nerve compression symptoms most likely due to spinal canal stenosis. For this neurological evaluation and imaging like MRI is required. I suggest you to get it evaluated by a neurologist.

Hope this helps you.

Warm regards.
