Question: Dear Doctor,

will this deformities affect my son? he is 4 month old. i went to pediatrician in my country and they told me it happened because we carry him too much.

i just afraid when my son grow up, he will be limping when walking or affect some of his development body organ. please advice what should i do.

I have seen the attached images. The depression in the chest wall is likely to be due to rickets. It happens due to calcium and Vitamin D3 deficiency. The depression will disappear as you will start with proper supplements. It will take 4-6 weeks for it to disappear. In case the supplements are not started and it is left untreated then he may develop bow legs that can cause a difficulty in walking later on. It is best to consult his pediatrician again and get proper calcium and vitamin D3 supplements prescribed.
