Question : A sore area on the glans turned into peeling skin. Under the area where the shin peeled there is a clear discharge. Some minor pain when contacted. This is coincident with a bad reaction to an antibiotic, Bactrim, prescribed as a precaution for a foot injury. Yeast infection or another possibility? No recent sexual activity.

Upload the photographs

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I would recommend you to upload a picture of the glans with the affected area so as to have a clearer picture of the condition so that I can guide you in a better way.
Besides this I also need to ask you few questions:
Are you sexually active? If yes is there any history of discharge or itching in your partner?
Are you having itching or any ulcer on the genitilia?
After how many days of taking bactrim did you develop the soreness?
Have you developed any lesion or soreness on anyother part ot the skin or lips or oral cavity?
Do you use anything on the genitilia?
Regards
Dr Asmeet

The antifungal does not seem to make any difference. Should I change to something like betadyne?

Brief Answer:
Reaction to bactrim, it's not fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi!! I have seen the attached photographs and according to me it's not candidal infection.
You seem to have developed a reaction to bactrim which is most probably in resolving stage as you have started with peeling. In such cases I recommend my patients to apply mild steroid like cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily to hasten the healing process. No need to use betadine on the area. Just wash with plain water and don't use any chemicals on this area.
Wish you speedy recovery.
Good luck
Regards
Dr Asmeet
