Suggest Treatment For Discopathy

Question: The skin on my left side between the hip bone and lowest rib, laterally extending from above the hip bone about 5 inches toward the naval is very sensitive to touch. There are no marks on the skin and there is no pain when pressing on any part of the area and it's surrounds. Occasionally there are mild twinges of pain of short duration, ie 2-3 seconds, thse may occur every hour or so. No fever, BP 120/70, resting heart rate 65/min, age 73, Caucasian male, height 5'7" weight 108 kg, dieting losing weight approx 1kg/week. Pain started about 4 weeks ago just above the belt. General practitioner last week could not find cause, suggested waiting to see progress.

It is wise to undertake a lumbar CT scan which will show the problem. It is reccomended to wear a lumbar fortress till CT scan is done and use pain killer to avoid pain.
