Question: I have compound dislocation of the bones in my left shoulder. The main injury was 10 years ago when I broke my fall with outstretched arm. And I have landed on my shoulder several times. Lately I get a pain in the wrist joint that is releaved by lifting on the upper arm untill several clicks happen. 66 years old. I am constantly pushing the bones back into their sockits but they won't stay.

Brief Answer:
Shoulder dislocations are prone to recur

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

The compound fracture and dislocation of your left shoulder joint has rendered the socket of the shoulder joint even shallower and that makes it more prone to dislocation and that vulnerability is what is making you suffer till today. However, there is a possibility of certain nerves getting compressed when you lift your upper arm. There is not much to be done. Visit a physical therapist and learn the exercise that could help you remain at balance.
