Question: Hello, after having a mostly dry cough for about a week, and a near constant fever of 100-101, my doctor said he thinks it is walking pneumonia. This morning, I woke up and had blood in my sputum, is that normal?

Brief Answer:
No this is not normal. Better to get done chest x ray.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.. You are having hemoptysis (blood in sputum).
And this is not seen in walking pneumonia.
It is commonly seen with bacterial pneumonia (severe), tuberculosis and bronchitis.
So better to get done chest x ray first.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
