Brief Answer:
Shift from neksium to other PPI's

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Firstly thanks for choosing health care magic for your query!

Though neksium is very safe drug and can be used in doses as high as 80-160mg twice daily orally. But your symptoms are most likely because you are allergic to neksium.I would suggest you to shift from neksium to Rabeprazole 20mg and Levosulpiride combination.Levosulpiride is a prokinetic drug and has been used safely in patients with Dyspepsia.Along with it as adviced earlier Syrup mucaine gel(oxethazaine with aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide) 10ml twice daily can be taken 5 minutes before meals with half cup of water,Its a over counter medication.Apart from this follow all the general instructions given by me in previous question and you will feel much better in a week or so.

Thanks

Instead of rabeprazole can i try to to take 80mg of omeprazole daily since omeprazole is otc? Also, levosulpride does not seem to be otc eother. Any alternatives or suggestions?Dr XXXXXXX Kimar,

My primary gastro doctor just told me that it is very unlikely at this point that I get an allergic reaction since I have been taking it so long and that I should visit my Primary Care Doctor. I am not sure now whether to stop the Nexium or not.

Brief Answer:
Details below!

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Its best if you can visit your primary care consultant. However till the time you visit him yes you can shift to omeprazole or decrease the dose of neksium again to 40mg once daily!
Some routine blood investigations needs to be done by your physician to differenciate it from allergy.
Thank you!
