Question: Since at least the summer, worsening symptoms. Neuro symptoms along the right side of my body (numbness tingling right low leg, right hand), electrical feelings on fast reflexes, chills all day today (somewhat unusual), Dry mouth, dry sore throat, every joint stiff the first few hours of the day, chest tightness (especially in a pool), little appetite, constipation since July with infrequent diarrhea, spitting bloody mucus from dry mouth, and what I thought was a rash but my PA says is "burst capillaries" on my back:

Well I have gone through your history and symptoms do fit in with a disease called sjogrens syndrome. I have seen the lab reports which are essentially normal...Although an uncommon condition in males, it still can happen. Dry eyes dry mouth arthalgia and the rashes...

But I would like to know if your AnA Esr Schirmmer test and Rheumatoid factor has been done. All these are essential for initial screening to see what's happening in your body.

Do let me know these details.

Also let me know about other symptoms like hair fall, oral ulcers, Raynaud's or any muscle weakness incase you are experiencing those.

Do let me know these queries and I would guide toh further from here

I have dry flaky skin and dry mouth, i dont know if i have dry eyes. Got Chem and RF done, both normal except an ALT of 14. ANA results will be done in one week. Hair is thin but i think thats genetic. Lots of muscle weakness, all down the right side of my body.

Sorry for the late reply

Had a long day...Well, your symptoms do go more in favor of an inflammatory disease. We need to get a ANA done to look for Sjogrens Syndrome. Also I would recommend a Chest X ray as SArcodiosis is another condition which can cause similar type of symptoms. Also ask them to do ESR and CRP which are the inflammatory markers and CPK and LDH for your muscle weakness...Will give us a clue whether it is inflammation or something else.

If these are inconclusive( as they can be in 30 % of the patients,) , we should do a Minor Salivary gland Biopsy or a Biopsy from the skin lesions. That would give us a fair clue on what exactly is going on.

But somewhere, the work up is going very slow... We need to sort it out quick and attack the disease as soon as we can

Do let me know for more queries
