                                    Brief Answer:
It could be either fungal infection or eczema.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
As per your description, there is the possibility of either fungal infection or eczema but I will be able to say exactly only after the visual infection at the lesion.
So,it would be better if you could provide me clinical pictures of that skin as there is feature to upload photos on the right side of query page.
Then only I would be able to guide you accordingly.
Get back to me with images of the lesion.
Regards,
Dr.SandipKabra

Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up.
I have seen the pictures you uploaded.
Although the pictures are not so clear,it seems to be eczema with fungal infection.
It is possible that you have got this infection from your 2 year kid.
You can apply topical antifungal cream with steroid like betnovate-M on the lesion.
You can ask this cream to nearby pharmacy whether it is available over the counter and if not then your local doctor may prescribe that.
Apart from treatment, you should maintain good hygiene and do not share towels or bathing utensils like bucket or tubular when someone is having fungal infection.
Hope this will help you.
If still problem persists even after 7 days of this treatment, you should see dermatologist.
