Suggest Treatment For Dry Scaly Itching Palms

Question : For fifteen years I have had dry scaly itching palms. I had it on the bottom of my feet as well. My feet and hands cleared after the use of prescribed oral lamisil. After about nine months the problem returned to my hands but my feet are fine and have been for a few years. The only other time that it went away for a short time was after a shot of steroid from a dermatologist when the problem first developed. Looking for relief!

Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have taken note of your query and I have also reviewed the Image

This is Hyperkeratotic Eczema and I would suggest a skin biopsy to rule out palmoplantar psoriasis.
This is not fungal infection.

You must use a moisturizer regularly, preferably an ammonium lactate Or urea based moisturizer.
In addition I suggest you to use a potent topical steroid e.g clobetasol propionate 0.05% with salicylic acid 6% combination ointment, twice daily, over and above the moisturizer.

Oral retinoids e.g Acitretin can also be started.
This would require a few blood tests like Liver function tests and Serum Lipid profile at baseline and at regular intervals.
