Question : hello doctor my brother has got an infection on the ear lobe because of using some local studs.(earrings) can you please suggest some medicine to reduce the infection

Brief Answer: please take tablet cloxacillin Detailed Answer: Hello Ear lobe infections are notorious and can leave bad scars , therefore they should be treated fast and properly Please ask your brother to start capsule cloxacillin 500 mg four times a day or he can also take tab ampi-clox 500 mg three times a day for 5 days. Please ask him to keep the ear dry and apply local mupirocin ointment 3-4 times a day and not to scratch or probe the area of infection. If the infection does not reduce in 48 hours , you may have to meet your nt doctor to asses the cause and guide you further. please ask him not to wear the same studs/ ear rings again. Thanks
