Brief Answer:
need to consider adding additional medication

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The cefdinir would help with the under lying illness but would not provide immediate relief for the pain that you would be experiencing

It would take a few days of the cefdinir treating any bacterial infection present to reduce the pain if it is used alone.

It should be combined with an anti histamine, decongestant and a pain killer.
The decongestant would help because part of sinus related pain, is due to congestion of the sinuses.

These medications would be available over the counter and may be available in combinations as well eg advil cold and sinus (pain killer and decongestant), the anti histamine can be added to this

An alternative is claritine d, allegra d, zyrtec d- these are all anti histamine, decongestant combinations
In this case, a pain killer such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen can be added to complete the regimen

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
