Brief Answer:
Suggestions on eczema

Detailed Answer:
Hi... I sympathize with the kid and understand your concern.

The trick of the management is keeping the skin moist and never allowing it to be dry. For this oil massage and lotions like Oilatum will help.

Regarding cure options - eczema is a sort of allergy...allergies can only be controlled and can never be cured.

But usually kids grow out of it...that is as the age progresses, they become better starting from 6 months.

Brief Answer:
Start solids by 6 months of age

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

Start solids at 6 months of age.

At this age (6months) you can start giving Cerelac stage one rice or Nestum rice stage 1 etc. All are same in calories and energy. Only thing is palatability which is subjective for each kid.

Other home-made food options will be -
1. Daal and rice well cooked and made into a porridge along with ghee
2. Boiled apple or banana and mashed into a paste.
3. Any made cereal porridge preparation with additional ghee added.

Remember certain principles like -
1. Add one food material / cereal or fruit per week. This will be useful because if he develops vomiting or diarrhoea, we will know what to avoid.
2. Add vegetables and fruits made into a paste surely to avoid constipation.
3. Do not add too much sugar as it may cause diarrhoea.

Answered by Dr. Sumanth Amperayani (7 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
You need not worry -Lidocaine can be used in nursing mothers

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Lidocaine concentrations in milk during continuous IV infusion, epidural administration and in high doses as a local anesthetic are low and the lidocaine is poorly absorbed by the infant.

Lidocaine is not expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants.

No special precautions are required.

Hi. Can my breast milk provide more eczema?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sumanth Amperayani (8 hours later)
Brief Answer:
If you are avoiding all cow's milk products - NO

Detailed Answer:
Hi... if you are avoiding all cow's Milk products in your diet then the chances of your breast milk producing eczema are very very minimal. So please do not worry about it. The only way breast milk can produce eczema is by cows milk protein intolerance. If the mother avoids all cows Milk products in her diet then even this is ruled out.
